On 22 January 2025, NGO Forum for Public Health hosted a National Seminar on “Water Integrity Management: Experiences, Challenges, and Way Forward,” highlighting its work under the Water and Sanitation Integrity Project in Rangpur City Corporation, funded by Water Integrity Network (WIN), Germany. The seminar emphasized improving citizen-centric and efficient services by WASA and city corporations. Mr. Muhammad Saiful Islam, Project Coordinator and Head of Communications at NGO Forum, presented the project's outcomes and recommendations, while Mr. S.M.A. Rashid, Executive Director of NGO Forum, presided.
The Seminar featured key speakers, including the Additional Secretary of the Local Government Ministry, Dhaka WASA Managing Director Mr. Md. Fazlur Rahman, and Joint Secretary of the Local Government Division, Mr. Mohammad Saiful Islam Mazumder. Professor Dr. Tanvir Ahmed of BUET delivered the keynote, highlighting a significant funding gap for SDG 6 and the impact of corruption. Representatives from development partners, academia, utilities, and sector leaders participated, offering insights and discussing ways to enhance water integrity in Bangladesh.
